Dam Feasibility Study
Since July of 2021 the Officers and Board have been working diligently with our local representatives, DES and the Belknap County Commissioner in an attempt to secure funding for a feasibility study for a dam at the outlet to Silver Lake. The Belknap County Commissioners will be voting in November to release the $530,000 which has been approved in their budget. It will take approximately one year for the environmental company to complete the study. This is a slow process and we have to constantly show our desire to see this through and hopefully get a dam built in order to help maintain our lake levels at a reasonable level so everyone can enjoy the recreational aspect of our lake. Not to mention this dam will allow DES to better control the water levels in the upper large lakes as well.
